Polish energy company ORLEN announced on Wednesday (10 April) that its supervisory board has appointed Ireneusz Fąfara as President of the ORLEN management board, effective as of 11 April.
From 2010 to 2017, Mr Fąfara was associated with the ORLEN Group, including in the role as President of ORLEN Lietuva, in which “he reformed and made the refinery in Mažeikiai profitable,” ORLEN said in a statement.
Previously, Mr Fąfara was also a member of the supervisory boards of Rockbridge TFI (2018-2024, resigned on the day of appointment as President of the ORLEN management board), PKO BP (2009-2010), LOTOS (2009-2010), Export Credit Insurance Corporation (2007-2009), Kompania Węglowa (2003-2005), National Health Fund (2005-2008) AND Energy Market Agency (1997-1998).
Moreover, Mr Fąfara held the position of President of the Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego management board (2007-2009) and Vice President of the Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych management board (1998-2007). He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Krakow.
