LNG Croatia signs contract for the delivery of an additional regasification module

The operator of the LNG terminal on the island of Krk, LNG Croatia signed a contract with the Norwegian company Wartsila Gas Solutions to deliver an additional regasification module with a maximum capacity of 250,000 cubic metres per hour, worth 22,9 million euros. The production of the regasification module will take 22 months and its installation on the FSRU vessel LNG Croatia will be carried out during the summer of 2025, which will ultimately enable a double increase in the total capacity of the Terminal.

The realisation of this investment is following the Decision of the Government of Croatia on 18 August 2022, to increase the security of gas supply by building the Zlobin – Bosiljevo gas pipeline and expanding the capacity of the LNG Terminal to 6.1 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas per year.

The signing of the contract was attended by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Davor Filipović, who pointed out that by expanding the capacity of the LNG Terminal, the gas pipeline network is being strengthened and Croatia is moving in the direction of becoming the energy hub of this part of Europe.

After installing the module on the FSRU vessel LNG Croatia and the construction of the gas pipeline Zlobin – Bosiljevo, additional capacities will be available and offered to the market from 1 October 2025, from the beginning of the gas year 2025-2026.
