Energa to build 37.4 MW wind farm in southern Poland

Polish energy company Energa, a subsidiary of ORLEN Group, announced on Friday (8 March) that it has acquired 100 per cent of shares in a special purpose company responsible for a wind farm project in Szybowice, Opolskie voivodeship (southern Poland).

The Szybowice wind farm is planned to consist of 17 Vestas turbines, each with a capacity of 2.2 megawatts (MW) and a height of 180 metres. The construction of the farm is expected to be completed within 21 months from the investor’s order to commence construction, which is set to happen no later than 22 March this year.

ONDE, under a separate agreement, will be responsible for the construction and electrical work of the Szybowice wind farm.

In the first and second quarters of this year, Enega plans to commence the construction of five additional installations. Two of them are to be located in the Warmian-Masurian voivodeship (northeastern Poland), namely PV Barczewo (9.4 MW installed capacity) and PV Działdowo (5.9 MW).

Additionally, in the Masovian voivodeship (east-central Poland), PV Płońsk 1 and PV Płońsk 2 farms are planned to be constructed (8.3 MW and 8.7 MW, respectively), along with PV Wąbrzeźno in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeship (northern Poland) with a capacity of 10.1 MW.
